Exports of ethyl alcohol under Paraguay's maquila regime reached USD 131.4 million through September 2026, a year-on-year increase of 147.4%, according to the Central Bank's foreign-trade report.
Why this matters
The increase points to stronger export performance in a segment linking agricultural inputs, industrial processing and overseas markets. Export-value growth should not be confused with equivalent gains in volumes or production capacity without supporting data.
Implications for investment
Growing exports can create demand for logistics, storage, equipment and working capital. Any claims about new projects or capital commitments should be supported by company disclosures and official records.
The result is a significant commercial signal, not a guarantee of future profitability.
