Paraguay's tax authority DNIT collected PYG 3.944399 trillion in cash in September 2026, up 3.4% from September 2025. Domestic-tax receipts reached PYG 2.487953 trillion, rising 8.2%, while customs receipts totalled PYG 1.456446 trillion, declining 4.1%.

Two different trends

The gap shows that revenue components do not necessarily move together. Tax receipts are affected by payment timing, transaction mix, exchange rates and enforcement, so they are not direct proxies for consumer demand or import volumes.

Why businesses should watch

The divergence provides a reason to monitor trade flows, prices, financing costs and DNIT's forthcoming data, while cross-checking import statistics from the central bank.

These figures compare September 2026 with the same month of 2025, not cumulative year-to-date revenue.
