Strategic projects | 4 November 2026. On 1 November, Asunción Municipality reported progress on the Abasto stormwater drainage works in the San Pablo neighborhood: 26 completed blocks, 2,286 meters of drainage structures, 19,946 m² of concrete pavement and 20,000 tonnes of concrete placed.
Epifanio Méndez Fleitas street reopened
The street reopened to traffic after more than a year. The Municipality said the project had been stalled before works restarted. These figures describe municipal progress reports, not completion of the entire project.
Radar analysis: infrastructure and business activity
Better drainage and restored access may reduce interruptions for local commerce, transport and services. Actual economic outcomes require evidence about rainfall disruptions, logistics costs and commercial activity. These construction figures do not demonstrate increased sales or property values.
The next milestones are completion of remaining works, formal handover and system performance in heavy rain.
