Strategic Projects | 4 November 2026. The Coronel Oviedo urban corridor in Caaguazú has reached 80% physical completion, according to Paraguay's public works ministry (MOPC) on 3 November. The project aims to improve access and through-traffic conditions for an estimated 130,000-plus people.
Lighting and public space
The MOPC reported 300 LED streetlights installed, 150 of them double-armed and scheduled to begin operating the following week. Central-section lighting was projected to be fully operational within two weeks of the announcement. Those are planned dates, not verified completion.
The project includes a 155,000 m² linear park with walking and recreation facilities. Landscaping, sidewalks and preparations for fitness and children's play equipment remain under way.
Radar analysis
Better urban connections and public spaces may improve road safety, local access and commercial mobility. Actual benefits require measurements of travel times, crashes and economic activity. An 80% completion rate means the full project is not yet finished.
