Darnel Group, an international packaging manufacturer, is considering setting up a factory in Paraguay to supply Mercosur markets. According to the Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MIC), company representatives discussed the proposal with Minister Marco Riquelme on 14 October.
The company has over 4,500 employees, approximately 5,000 products and 40,000 customers in 50 countries. The meeting included CEO Salvador Miñarro, strategy executive Giorgio Rivera and Darnel Paraguay manager Heriberto Mieres.
The investment is not yet confirmed. Neither the amount, location, implementation date nor expected jobs have been announced. A future plant could support domestic industrial capacity and regional supply chains.
