October tax revenues fell by 5.4% year-on-year to G. 3,075,239 million, Paraguay's DNIT reported on November 2. Domestic tax receipts rose 6.8% to G. 1,686,081 million, whereas customs revenue declined 17% to G. 1,389,158 million. The tax authority cited currency appreciation and fewer import transactions.
Context and implications
January–October collections rose 1.5% to G. 35,952,488 million, so the October fall does not imply a year-to-date contraction.
Radar assessment: The difference between domestic taxes and customs shows sensitivity to currency valuation and import activity. Further monthly data are needed to determine whether the decline persists.
