International investment · November 2, 2026 edition
The first Mercosur–European Union Business Forum is scheduled for December 2, 2026, at the Punta del Este Convention Centre in Uruguay. Authorities and business leaders from both regions are expected to explore trade, investment and partnership opportunities.
Sector panels and B2B meetings
The programme covers agribusiness, digital innovation, infrastructure and logistics, energy and critical raw materials. Organizers also plan B2B meetings. The forum is co-organized by Uruguay and the European Union with support from the IDB, CAF, EIB and Uruguay XXI.
Why it matters for Paraguay
Paraguayan companies may use the event to identify European buyers, suppliers and prospective partners. Participation and networking do not themselves constitute signed contracts or committed investment. Any subsequent deals and spending will require separate verification.
Regional schedule
The forum is planned for December 2, followed by an interim agreement Trade Council meeting on December 3 and a Mercosur summit on December 4 in Montevideo.
Radar assessment: the real outcome will be measurable business agreements and investment projects, not attendance figures alone.
