Paraguay's Federation of Interior Truckers announced an idle-truck action for Monday in response to rising diesel costs, according to comments by Éver Martínez reported by Última Hora.

Protest locations

The announced locations are near Cargill's plant at kilometer 28 in Minga Guazú, Alto Paraná, and Capiibary, San Pedro. Organizers say they do not plan roadblocks and aim to negotiate higher freight rates, initially with Cargill.

Business implications

Fuel costs are squeezing haulers' margins and may affect transport pricing for agricultural products and other freight. No confirmed count of participating trucks, agreed increase or nationwide disruption has been reported.
