Migraciones announced on October 27 that, from Wednesday October 28, affected river checkpoints would be enabled temporarily on request, subject to safe crossing conditions following the Paraná’s rise.
The measure covers thirteen checkpoints, including Tres Fronteras, Paso de Patria, Cerrito, Mayor Otaño, Bella Vista Sur, Capitán Meza and Campichuelo. They had been temporarily disabled on October 14. Weather and river assessments continue to govern operations.
The notice concerns migration controls and people travelling for work, health and other priorities. It does not confirm permanent operation at every checkpoint or replace navigation, customs or freight requirements.
Radar reading: businesses whose workers, technicians or customers cross by river should confirm checkpoint service and transport availability before scheduling a visit. Under an on-request arrangement, a travel date is not a guaranteed service. Alternatives and clear customer communication remain useful.
The potential gain is restoring some cross-border mobility needed by local services and businesses. Radar will follow actual service continuity. Logistics decisions must distinguish people’s border controls from freight clearance: the notice does not support announcing full normalisation of river trade.
