Paraguay's exports covered by certificates of origin reached USD 936 million in September 2026, up approximately 15% month on month from USD 813 million in August, according to the Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MIC) and the Single Export Window (VUE). Exported volume totaled 1,428,174 metric tons.

Brazil and Argentina lead destinations

Destinations in the Americas accounted for USD 655 million. Brazil received USD 276 million, Argentina USD 166 million, Chile USD 66 million, the United States USD 40 million, Uruguay USD 32 million and Peru USD 28 million.

Asia and Europe provide additional markets

Asia received USD 152 million, including Israel with USD 46 million and India with USD 27 million. Europe accounted for USD 110 million, Africa USD 16 million and Oceania approximately USD 1.5 million.

Implications for business

The high share of regional destinations highlights Paraguay's commercial integration with nearby markets while underscoring concentration risks. Exporters seeking diversification must examine logistics, product standards, rules of origin and access to buyers. A single month's figures cannot establish a lasting change in market share.

Statistical scope

Certificates of origin document declared product origin under relevant trade rules and may facilitate preferential tariff treatment. The USD 936 million total includes only origin-certified shipments in September, not Paraguay's overall exports or January–September cumulative exports. The 15% increase is relative to August, not September of the previous year.

Radar perspective: origin rules and market diversification are central to building a broader export base.
