Darnel Group is assessing a potential manufacturing plant in Paraguay to serve Mercosur markets, according to the Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MIC). The announcement followed a meeting between Paraguay's industry minister Marco Riquelme and company representatives. No confirmed investment amount, site or construction timetable was announced.

A potential regional production base

The proposal may help the packaging manufacturer strengthen its regional supply and competitiveness. A location in Paraguay could offer access to neighboring markets and local suppliers, subject to the company making a final investment decision.

Investment remains at the evaluation stage

The ministry's announcement does not establish that the plant is already approved, financed, under construction or operating. Investors should watch for an announced capital budget, physical site, production capacity, jobs and supplier contracts.

Radar analysis: a production facility could deepen Paraguay's industrial value chains, but it remains a potential project rather than confirmed foreign direct investment.
